Our darling Brooklynn has gone to be with the Lord, February 19, 2008. She fought for 11 days until God brought rest to her little body. She was so small with many complications.

She touched our lives for a brief moment in time,....that will last forever.

We love you Brooklynn Rose.

Well today Brooklynn is 1 week old. Still fighting each day (must take after her grandma)(grin). Her tubes are out of her belly and they have attempted to give her a little breast milk to see how she reacts to it. Erika is in with her to the point of exhaustion. They have noticed when Erika reads or sings to Brooklynn, her heart rate stablizes. I think they are going to tape record her and play it when Erika isn't there.

We will going down Monday to see her again and hopefully every weekend until she comes home, which at this point is her due date of May 13th. I felt comforted when reading a bumper sticker of Isaiah 44:2 that says, "Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not,.."

Complications

At 2 lbs. 9 oz., Brooklynn is up against several battles. There is a hemmorhage on the left side of her brain. They are waiting results of an ultrasound to check the status. She also has a heart murmur. They have done an echo on her heart and waiting for those results. They have received a first chromosome test to rule out any "fatal" syndromes (including Jeune's Syndrome which they originally thought she had). They are running a second test. She appears to have an attitude like her mother (grin) and is throwing tantrums to the point where it is affecting her heart rate and blood pressure. They had to sedate her last night due to these tantrums.

This is my daughter and my sweet granddaughter, Brooklynn Rose. Brooklynn was born on February 8th weighing in at 2 lbs. 9 oz. She is struggling to stay alive right now. She is on full support. Brooklynn will need to stay at Children's hospital until her due date, May 13th. She could use everyone's prayers. God can heal her little body and be her strength.
